Grasseschi, repairing shoes isn’t just a job, it’s a family craft. Five
generations of Grasseschis have learned the family trade that began
with his grandfather in Italy. Today, after 58 years in the
business, Rudy still runs “The Cobblers,” the only full-service shoe
repair shop left in Hayward, and has no plans to retire.

What services/products do you offer?
Quality shoes and quality shoe repair. We do soles, heels, inner soles,
heel liners, stitching, polishing, dying and re-dying. We have a great
dye department. People send shoes from as far away as L.A. and Kansas
because there isn’t anyone around anymore who will dye shoes. We repair
and condition handbags, fix luggage, golf bags and leather goods. We do
orthopedic work.
